Diversity and inclusion

We aim to build a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone – staff and scholars – can do their best work and achieve their full potential.

Our community

Our scholars know and understand the importance of showing respect to everyone, whatever differences we may have, and to everything, whether it is a school resource or a religious belief. We promote and celebrate diversity by celebrating events such as Black History Month, Pride, and different religious festivals over the course of each year.

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is a grant given to schools for each child who currently claims for free school meals or who has done so in the past. It is vital that all parents/carers of children eligible to do so register for free school meals (even if you don’t choose to have them) as the grant enables us to provide extra resources for your children.

Research has shown that children who are disadvantaged through a lack of socio-economic opportunity do not attain as highly as other children in school. If your child has been on or is currently on Free School Meals (FSM), the Government provides this grant so that we can allocate additional support. It may take the form of one-to-one support or small group teaching and may be an evidence-based intervention. It can be additional resources, enrichment or access to opportunities that enhance learning and or aspiration.

Accessibility

Ark Greenwich is committed to providing a fully accessible environment, which values and includes all scholars, staff, parents and visitors regardless of their education, physical, sensory, social, spiritual, emotional and cultural needs. We are committed to challenging negative attitudes about disability and accessibility, and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion.

You can read about how our school curriculum caters to SEND learners here.

Curriculum

We reflect and represent diverse perspectives throughout our curriculum through our choice of topics, reading materials and trips out into the community.

Curriculum Overview
